What is PowerConnect+?
PowerConnect+ is a dynamic 2-day event designed to inspire and educate engineering students in the field of Power Electronics. With the generous support of a grant from IEEE PES MDI 2023, this event brings together industry leaders, innovators, and students for a transformative experience.
The event features four enlightening sessions led by experts in the field. Shibu Mathew, Division Head of ERFD at ISRO, will share insights from his work on missions like Chandrayaan 3, Aditya L1, and Gangayan, in a session on liquid propulsion. Abhinav Rajeev, a Research Fellow at IIT Palakkad, will conduct a hands-on workshop where participants will build solar lamps for students in rural areas facing power cuts.
The event includes sessions on women empowerment in engineering, led by Prof. Sunitha Beevi, Chair of IEEE SIGHT Kerala Section, and opportunities with IEEE PES. The event will also feature cultural performances and an idea-pitching competition, making it a holistic and enriching experience for all attendees.
About IEEE SB AJCE
Under the auspices of the Student Branch, the Computer Society, Women in Engineering affinity chapter, Solid State Circuits Society, SIGHT and Industrial Applications Society have been founded to help keep members technically up-to-date, network, and cooperate on research and projects. The AJCE Student Branch consists of 150 plus active IEEE Student and Professional Membership holders. It provides a supportive and stimulating environment for students to explore their interests, engage in hands-on learning experiences, and connect with the wider engineering community
